The church was organized in October of 1953 as the result of mission work carried on by a group of Baptist churches across Arkansas known called the North American Baptist Association (later changed to the Baptist Missionary Association). A small group of committed Christians first met in an old feed store building behind what is now Pioneer Pizza on Main Street. Eventually, the small congregation was able to rent and later purchase a building located at the corner of Rust & 2nd Streets. The church moved into the present building at 1120 East Main in December of 1983. Additional Sunday School rooms and a fellowship hall were later added and finally the Family Life Center was completed and dedicated on October 26, In its 65 year history, VMBC has had 18 men to serve as pastor (3 of which later returned to serve as pastor a second time).

Through the decades the ever-changing congregation known as Victory Missionary Baptist Church has remained an active church. The minutes of this congregation record difficult and economically depressed times. In spite of those, believing that God would provide their needs, the church voted in November of 1973, that no offering plates were to be passed but that instead a single plate would be placed on a table at the back. In the almost half a century since that time, no offering plates have been passed…but God HAS supplied every need.

There have been times of great blessings as souls were saved and lives were changed. There have been many national and cultural changes in the years that this church has existed. To adapt and provide a viable ministry, those who made up the membership of this church have recognized the need to adapt as well. There have been changes in the ministries provided, but NEVER in the message proclaimed.

Those who make up the current membership of Victory Missionary Baptist Church today remain committed to the same timeless truths of the Bible, believing it to be the inspired, inerrant Word of the living God. The goal is to declare the changeless truth in a changing world, using all of the tools and technology at our disposal in this 21 st century.
